Combining play with academic lessons, YMCA Preschool promotes creativity, a love for learning, social and emotional development and character building.

For over 29 years, the Ocean County YMCA’s Mulberry Bush Preschool has been a great place for kids to grow! We use a developmentally appropriate approach, with attention to children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. In YMCA Preschool, children live and learn the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Nurturing Child Care staff promotes an atmosphere of fun and friendship while helping children learn to explore the world.

Mulberry Bush Preschool is a State Licensed program for children ages 3-5. Each class has a certified head teacher and experienced teacher assistant

Our Staff/Child Ratio is:

  • 3 yrs. 1:8 (state requires 1:10)
  • 4-5 yrs. 1:10 (state requires 1:12)

We provide a program where your child will develop physically, socially, emotionally and educationally in a safe, warm, friendly environment. With gentle guidance your child will enjoy learning while developing language and problem solving skills. Your child will develop self confidence in a school setting, along with respect for his/her classmates and teachers.

PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

Mulberry Bush Program is a structured learning curriculum, aimed at 3-5 years old. Our qualified teachers bring the love of learning to the classroom, while focusing on socialization, interaction, language and sensory development. Children will expand their growth through literature, recognition of numbers and letters, eye hand coordination and fine gross motor movements. Children will be introduced to math, science, nutrition and history, in conjunction to working in cooperative groups together. Not only will your child be developing their education in our program, but they will also be introduced to the pool, with their weekly swim lesson, which only expands their physical horizons.
